This program is designed to accelerate the learning process through the basic foundation skills and prepare the skater to start to enter into the Skate Canada Starskate figure skating program. Recreational program skaters showing natural coordination, a keen interest in skating, and having progressed well through the recreational programs are identified, recommended and invited into the program by our professional coaching staff.
The accelerated program is offered as a two, three or four day a week program. It is approximately one hour in length each day. The session would be similar to the group environment offered in the recreational programs. The student/coach ratio would be approximately 5 or 6 skaters to one professional coach. After a year in this program, skaters would then move into our Pre-Preliminary Starskate program.
Skaters must be recommended by a professional coach for this program and would receive a letter of invitation to register.
Skaters may also wish to consider one-on-one private instruction with a professional coach to enhance their progression.

Our Philosophy
We believe that figure skating can play an important role in the development of a young person. Each test and competition is just a step up the ladder of success. Skaters in their career move up the ladder sometimes quickly, at other times slowly and appear at some stages to even move down the ladder. The important quality gained in the journey is not the reaching of the top, but rather the experience gained moving from one step to another. Our goal is to have each athlete leave our Centre having developed their skating skills to the fullest of their ability and to be better prepared as a person for their next challenge in life.
